Shannon McBride :During the spring of 2016 our family rented a motorhome and headed out to Zion National Park. The colors, sights, sounds, textures and smells of our journey have inspired this work. Zion is a unique environment, located in Utah’s high plateau country. The Virgin River carved a deep gorge, providing fodder for creativity. Fear of heights kept me from the final assent to Angel’s Landing, but I managed to bring a journal on the hike to catch the colors and experience while the rest of the family climbed upwards to see the 1,500 foot drops and dramatic cross canyon views. It was a classic family vacation that created memories for a lifetime.
