Shannon McBride :My second home is the Oregon coast. Growing up we always had a home and still do at the beach. The pull of the ocean, the feeling of sand between your toes and salt water taffy would draw me back weekend after weekend. Driving to the Oregon coast from my home in the suburbs of Portland, you could feel the stress, the reality of life stripped away mile after mile. The Tillamook Head series documents my visceral response to one of my favorite hiking trails. Eight miles of huckleberries, Sitka spruce, thick salal and the smell of the damp salt water forest fill the senses.
